Luna Va (9) is a young entrepreneur who runs her own business as a freshman. She started her jewelry business with her younger sister last year in April. She and her sister specialize in selling gemstone bracelets, keychains, and custom earrings.
Va builds relationships with her family by working on her business. “I started so I could have that family connection with my sister and my mom,” she explained.
“Something that encourages me to keep going is the fact that it’s a new experience,” She stated.
Va values the business because of the many new experiences it’s given her. She said, “I get to see new places, I know how to interact with people, and to sell stuff.”
There is a lot to learn when starting a business. Va stated that “it’s really an interesting thing to learn about.”
Balancing schoolwork and business takes a lot of hard work. “I try to finish all my class work early, and my homework in school,” she said.
Another way Va can balance school with her business is by sharing the responsibility. She does this by alternating business days between her and her sister so they both have the chance to work on homework and their business.
