Nora Sabo (12) takes pride in her side hustle, doing nails for her friends, peers, classmates and other students in school.
Sabo started learning how to do nails because she wanted an affordable way to get cute manicures. She was really bad when she started and said, “I was super interested in learning more about nail care and how to get better. I started getting more advanced and people started asking me to do [their nails] and I was excited that other people thought my nails were good enough for them to want them too.”
Sabo took an online course which taught her a lot about the cuticle and nail bed care and how to avoid certain issues that are common when doing nails. She explained her favorite techniques are super maximalist nails, with lots of designs because it challenges her to learn new techniques and spend time curating colors and patterns that work well with each other.
Sabo also puts in time to stay current on trends. She said, “I use Pinterest a lot, but I also love to draw my designs on my iPad. I like taking real photos that have cool colors or patterns and turning them into nail designs. “
Sabo take pride in the satisfaction of her clients. She explained, “I love when people can’t stop telling me how much they like their nails. It makes it so worth it to me to spend time doing and perfecting my art. I love when someone takes out their phone to send me pictures to their friends or just to take pictures because they like them so much.”
