Raiders, have you ever wondered what the instrument players alongside the stands do at sports games? Well, they are all a part of our Pep Band at Roseville Area High School. The pep band plays a variety of pop songs along with the national anthem and the school song.
Pep Band plays during timeouts, during half time and before and after the game. They play the national anthem at the start of the game as well as the school song.
Pep bands consist of the same instruments found in marching bands, including bold brass instruments like the trumpet, sousaphone, and trombone, and woodwinds that help carry the melody like clarinet, saxophone, and flute. Percussion is also a key part of the pep band.
Students work on Pep band music during their regular band classes, taking breaks from their regular music to practice and learn the pieces played at games.
