Roseville Area High School students are finding more than just academics; they’re discovering ways to give back, build friendships, and strengthen community ties. One of the most active groups leading this effort is Key Club, a student‑run organization dedicated to service and leadership.
A Club leader, Naomi Bretz, describes it as “a welcoming place where you can get to know people at RAHS and around the community. It’s a volunteer club and super chill, so it’s excellent if you’re new to the school and looking for something to do.”
At its core, Key Club is about giving back. Bretz explained, “The main purpose is to gain valuable opportunities to volunteer and to use your volunteering to make a positive impact in our community.”
Beyond service, the club helps students build friendships across grade levels and connect with the wider Roseville community.
This fall, members have organized creative after-school projects, including bookmark making, tie blanket making, Halloween goody bags, and heartfelt cards for senior living homes. These activities have left a lasting impression. Bretz shared, “I think anything that had to do with senior living homes has made the biggest impact in our community… It makes me excited and happy to know that I am brightening someone else’s day with one small act of service.”
Looking ahead, Key Club is preparing for its first trip to Feed My Starving Children in early December. “We always have the best time there, and I think it’s a great way to bond with our club!” Bretz said.
With its mix of service projects, community outreach, and fun events, RAHS Key Club continues to inspire students to lead with kindness and make a difference both inside and outside of school.
