Most students say that chocolate candies like Twix and Hershey’s are their favorite, licorice and nut flavors are the worst. Meanwhile, candy corn and fruity flavors are in between.
Starting with a controversial candy, candy corn. Chloe Murray (9) doesn’t like candy corn, saying, “that’s a hard one – candy corn, I don’t like candy corn at all.”
Prairie McGraw (9) disagrees and said that, “Candy corn is good when it’s new and the pumpkins are the best ones.”
There are many different kinds of candy that students enjoy, with chocolate candies being the most popular. Brielle Soler (11) said, “I like Twix.”
Caleb Thompson (12) similarly said his favorite candy is, “probably Twix…because I like the carmel.”
Similar to Twix, many RAHS students like Hershey’s. Rebecca Thao (9) said her favorite candy is “Hersheys.”
Heba Kassim (9) also said her favorite candy is “Hershey chocolate.”
Many students at RAHS dislike licorice. Kassim said her least favorite candy is “anything with the licorice flavor.”
Junior Brielle Soler agreed and said her least favorite candy is also “licorice.”
Megan Wiersma (9) said she likes, “Anything that has chocolate that doesn’t have nuts.”
Similarly, Reagan Lawson (9) said “I don’t like snickers just because I don’t super like nuts in chocolate type thing.”
Lawson struggled to think of a least favorite candy. She said, “I don’t really have [a least favorite] but I would have to probably say butterfingers.”
With an uncommon opinion Lawson explains they like airhead sour strips, “I don’t have a specific favorite candy but the first candy that I can think of right now is airhead sour strips. I really like those because they’re very yummy.”
Murray (9) said they like, “smarties because I like literally 5 things of smarties in my pocket right now.”
Contrasting this to Thao (9) who said her least favorite is “Smarties,” saying it’s “because they are plain.”
