Here at RAHS, the lunch staff provides many food options for students. From the classic cheeseburger to the dill pickle pizza, students know what lunch line they are running to.
Students alike are waiting for that special time of day when they can leap from their seats and head down to lunch. Many students wait weeks or months for their favorite lunch item to appear on the menu.
One of the more unique items on the menu is the dill pickle pizza. Some students might not find themselves leaning towards it; however, a sophomore, Aubrey Kempton, is very fond of this food. Here is what she had to say: “It tastes really good, and the dill and cheese mix really well together”.
Kempton also adds, ”I like the texture of the pickles…. I downed the whole thing in less than 10 minutes”.
Kempton expresses her love for the pizza as she says the other pizzas can’t compare. She then went on to say how she associates the pizza with memories of the pickle pizza at the Minnesota State Fair.

A poll conducted by reporters at The Ville concludes that French toast is RAHS students’ favorite lunch. Orange chicken is a close second, among other top contenders.
Students like sophomore Elizabeth Christopherson happen to love the plant-based nachos, and sophomore Lily Freeman is a lover of the pasta. Observations in the cafeteria and from the chart show that pasta is also a student favorite.
Junior Emilia Bianchet thinks the lasagna is quite delicious; she stated, “It’s really good.”
Elin Nelson, a freshman here at RAHS, expressed her enjoyment of the school’s Cheese bread and French toast sticks. “It tastes the best!”
According to our RAHS lunch staff, these are the most popular foods from one to ten:
- French Toast sticks/Cheesy Potatoes/Sausage
- Pizza
- Cheesy Bread Dunkers
- Mandarin Orange Chicken
- Chicken Tenders/Potatoes
- Beef Sambusa
- Sweet/Sour Chicken
- Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti and Marinara
- Beef Meatballs and Spaghetti
- Bolognese Meat Sauce with Penne Pasta
Our school’s nutrition manager, Kristen McArthur, added, “On the grill, we usually do between 600-800 sandwiches/day. The favorite grilled sandwich is the Spicy Chicken.”
In conclusion, RAHS students may have different thoughts on what lunch is the one to get, but despite the lunch they choose, students will never forget the fun conversations and memories made around the lunch table with their friends.
