The “ideal” study spot looks different to everyone–some prefer a quiet spot, while others enjoy the bustle. Bringing schoolwork home often comes with the temptation of distractions, making it hard to stay focused. That’s why finding a dedicated space to lock in and get work done is so important. To help, I’ve put together a list of some of the best places in Roseville where you can stay engaged and productive with your schoolwork.
Mi Saint | 1881 MN-36, Roseville, MN 55113
The atmosphere is very laid back and perfect for studying. They offer a variety of food and drink choices, however, it’s normal there to just grab a drink/drink and a small pastry. I made the unfortunate decision to go during lunch time so It was quite busy, however, if you avoid going during peak meal hours, there is a more casual cafe-type atmosphere. I recommend sitting in the outer window area since you can’t hear their music as loud and it’s just super cute over there. It’s calm but not super quiet, so if you work well in an active atmosphere with some background noise, this is the place for you.
- Warm/natural lighting
- Variety of seating (couch, benches, stools)
- Public wifi
- Variety of food and drinks
Panera | 1620 County Road B2 W, Roseville, MN 55113
Similar to Mi Saint, Panera is a restaurant but still has a casual cafe feel to it as well. This establishment was favorable to me because of its big windows. I loved the natural lighting as I studied. It had a very cozy and casual atmosphere which made it easy to stay concentrated on my work. It wasn’t too loud but the building layout is a very open concept so you can hear everything that is happening. Not too much commotion but it does depend on when you go since they get busier depending on the time it is.
- Warm/natural lighting
- Booths and chairs
- Public Wifi
- Variety of food and drinks
- Walkable distance from school
Caribou Coffee | 2360 Fairview Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113
There are a couple of Caribous in the Roseville Area, however, I’m here to recommend my favorite location out of them all. Although this location is pretty small, its cozy and clean atmosphere is why I love it. It has the full cafe feel that is perfect for locking into work. There aren’t a lot of bustling crowds of people and it’s more normalized for quieter conversations here so If you like the quietness with little to no background noise this is the study spot for you.
- Natural/warm lighting
- Booths, chairs, armchairs
- Public Wifi
- Minimal parking
- Drinks and some food/snack options
Makwa Coffee | 2805 Hamline Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113
This place is such a cozy and small cafe. They have light music playing and everyone really respects the quietness to allow people to work/study. This place is really good for locking into homework, and its appealing atmosphere is just a bonus!
- Public wifi
- Chairs and armchairs
- Mostly drinks, small snacks
- Natural/warm lighting
Ramsey County Library | 2180 Hamline Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113
The Library is one of the OG study spots. There’s a mix of seating options here, they have some study rooms but they are a first come, first serve, otherwise they have a bunch of tables and chairs around the Library. If you enjoy a completely quiet place to study with no background noise (or very minimal) then the Library is the place for you. It’s so quiet you can hear a pin drop (which personally gives me anxiety if I even shift in my chair). This location is probably more normal for you to spend hours there if you need to study for a long time.
- A mix of warm, natural, and cool lighting
- Chairs, couches, armchairs
- Public Wifi
- Resources (books, computers, internet access)
