The Pre-med Club is a new club created by RAHS students due to the lack of healthcare clubs in our community. Jessica Carpenter is a Junior at RAHS and she came up with the idea.
Pre-med Club’s first meeting is March 17th, the first Monday of the third trimester from 3-4PM. The meetings will be held in Ms. Padellford’s room, E105.
Carpenter said that the club will be chill and easy. There will not be work to do. She said, “I just want it to be fun.”
The first meeting will include “get to know you” activities and word searches. Anyone interested in attending can reach out to Jessica Carpenter through her school email or show up to the meeting.
Carpenter started this club because healthcare is complicated and it should be taught. She said, “I just want people to learn about healthcare, there are so many aspects of healthcare and I want to bring awareness to it.”
One of the teachers advising the club is Kelly Place. Carpenter said, “she’s amazing, she’s so well educated, she’s so well spoken.
Another advisor is Samantha Padellford. Carpenter said, “she’s so kind, she’s such an amazing soul, it’s healthcare and in healthcare there should be someone kind.”
Carpenter gives some advice for people who are interested or thinking about coming to a meeting. She said, “come by, don’t be afraid, you can just come by for a meeting you don’t have to come every time.”
