Trimester 1 Rundown

An in-depth look at distance learning this trimester.

“What will Tri 1 look like?” That is a question that many students have this trimester. This is your one stop shop for all of the available information about distance learning.

School will start for Freshman on September 8th, and 10-12th graders will start school on the 9th. The 9th will be an asynchronous day for all students.

Classes will be split in half, similar to the third trimester last year. ‘A’ days will have 1st, 3rd, and 5th hour instruction. ‘B’ days will have 2nd and 4th hour with an e-mentoring group hour. Wednesday will be an Asynchronous day for all classes.

“What is the difference between Asynchronous and synchronous?” Asynchronous is when students will be assigned work to complete on their own time without any scheduled meetings or videos. Synchronous is when students will meet with teachers and have digital instruction at set times.

“What is e-mentoring?” E-mentoring is going to be a group of students assigned to a teacher to promote connection to the school community and interactions with peers. More information will be available soon.

“When will students be able to go back to in-person learning?” The school board will be assessing the situation with COVID19 and opening back up schools monthly. However, the high school will not be switching to blended or in-person learning until elementary and middle schools have made the switch. As for extracurricular activities, it will vary. Football and Volleyball have been moved to the spring season, while boys/girls cross country, boys/girls soccer, girls tennis, and girls swim and dive will continue this season, but will have altered or shortened seasons. Other in-school clubs and groups may have distanced meetings or will wait until school resumes in-person to meet. New information can be found at https://www.rosevilleraiders.org/home
