RAHS Choirs

RAHS Choirs are extracurricular activities and elective classes that any student who enjoys singing can join. All choirs are led by choir director Kellen McMillen and have loads of volunteer opportunities, leadership positions, and out-of-school performances.

Concert Choir 2023-24

Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is the unauditioned day choir at RAHS. Vice President Alex Parker speaks very highly of the group, and many students agree. With a diverse range of skills, Concert Choir is the perfect welcoming place for 9th and 10th graders who enjoy singing and hanging out with their friends.

Cantus Certus

Cantus Certus 2023-24

Cantus Certus is the audition day choir at RAHS. Cantus performs twice a trimester and goes on a 5-day long tour. This year Cantus will be traveling to St. Louis for their tour. Cantus is great for 10th- 12th graders who like to sing with friends and are willing to invest time and effort into their craft.

POPs Choir 2023-24

POPs Choir

POPs Choir is an unauditioned morning choir at RAHS with rehearsals every Friday morning. POPs is a senior music concert with all of the top music groups in band, orchestra, and choir performing. POPs Choir is open to any student of any grade who wants to come in and sing some songs.

Good Pellas 2023-24

Good Pellas

Good Pellas is an audition-based a capella choir for 10-12th graders. Their practices take place every Monday and Thursday. Good Pellas does gigs like caroling to raise money for the Cantus Tour and performing during the POPs show, trimester concerts, and graduation. Good Pellas ranges from Soprano 1 to Bass 2 and usually has 16-18 members each year.

Bel Canto

Bel Canto is a Soprano and Alto audition choir for grades 10-12. Bel Canto is not running this year and will return if a large interest is shown.

Auditions for next year’s choirs begin during late February and early March and rosters will be posted by mid-March before spring break. If you would like to support RAHS Choirs you can donate to the music department or an individual student using this link or you can buy chocolate (Check out ‘A Sweet Fundraiser‘ by Alex Parker to learn more), which supports individual students. Feel free to reach out to Choir Director McMillen at [email protected] with any questions you have about the upcoming choir year.
