Much of Roseville’s student body has been featured on or follows the rahsfits Instagram page, but who’s behind the lens?
First created by junior Bebinna Kacher in February of 2024, rahsfits has since gained much attention online and throughout the school. Kacher documents the everyday attire of RAHS students, in addition to outfits she spots at special events such as spirit week, homecoming, and most recently Halloween.
Kasher was initially inspired by an account she saw on Instagram that displays similar content, @dashmagazinee, and shortly after began photographing spirit week outfits at RAHS. Equipped with her Canon PowerShot A3100, Kasher’s photography has reached a diverse crowd showcasing student fashion.
When asked why she created the page, Kasher explained that she wanted to document moments from high school in a more aesthetically pleasing way, so that she and others can hopefully look back fondly on those moments in time.
Kasher said, “When I look back at pictures I definitely appreciate my high school experience more, and I hope others do too.”
Expression is something that Kasher deeply values, and fashion specifically is one way that she feels people can truly express themselves.
“I love fashion! And I enjoy being able to document students’ expression of self,” Kasher said.
Since February, the account has generated over 600 followers — almost one fourth of the school’s entire student population. Kasher never expected the account to reach that size, but was hopeful that she would gain a decent following.
Had she not become somewhat known throughout the school, Kasher said, “It [would have been] embarrassing to go up to people and ask them, ‘Hey can I take a picture for rahsfits?’ And them not know who I am.”
Kasher asks that students continue to dress up and wear what they want even on non-event days, as she is planning to post monthly collections of her favorite outfits. So be on the lookout, you may be the next feature on rahsfits!
