Mascud Mohammed, a high school senior at RAHS, discovered his interest in becoming an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). He mentioned, “I’ve always wanted to do a first responder role, and EMT seems to be the only option for my age range. It’s a well established and highly in-demand job right now.’’ EMT also aligns with his future goals in law enforcement.
When asked about the inspiration behind pursuing emergency medical response, Mascud shared, “I find interest in these careers because of my drive to do something that can directly help someone or affect their life in a positive way.” He enjoys the personal connection and direct impact on individuals, setting this career apart.
Regarding balancing school and training, Mascud noted, “I try to not waste any d
owntime, and my main key to making it work is sleeping on time and using caffeine when needed.”
For his long-term goals, he wishes to work for an agency until he completes college.
When asked about challenges, Mascud emphasized the importance of discipline, stating, “It’s not learning that’s the hard part; it’s being disciplined and holding onto that info.”
To other EMT students aspiring to join that position, he stated “Pay attention and don’t skip out on extra stuff.”
Along with his position, in his free time he enjoys wrestling for Roseville, working out and playing guitar.
