RAHS students are beginning to break out the summer tunes as the weather gets nice and the school year ends.
A lot goes into a good summer playlist, and the vibes have to be just right. Sophomore Saraiya Her said, “I’ve been listening to a lot of pop and R&B.”
Her recommended the songs “Prom” and “Pretty Little Birds” by SZA. She also said that artists like Frank Ocean and Sabrina Carpenter capture the feeling of summer.
Senior Miles Jones said he has also been listening to a lot of R&B lately. Jones also recommended the song “Deja Vu” by Beyoncé.
It’s important to have a good soundtrack to summer. Her said a good summer playlist largely consists of upbeat songs. “It brings my mood up, helps me start my day, and gives me something to look forward to.”
Jones said that a good summer song is “one you can turn up in the car,” and that a well-crafted playlist can “keep you entertained” in the summer.
Here are a few more songs, spanning many genres, that you can add to your summer playlist. Happy listening!
