With the end of the first trimester of the school year approaching quickly, this time can be a very stressful time for many students. Here are some helpful tips to make the end of the trimester go as smoothly as possible.
Avoid procrastinating:
Sometimes, when tasks feel daunting or hard, we may tend to wait until the last minute. A study conducted in 2013 by Dr. Tim Pychyl, professor and researcher, and Dr. Fuschia Sirois, professor of psychology at the University of Sheffield, found that procrastination occurs when we deal with the negative feeling of the task before actually completing the task. Procrastinating work can leave us with more tasks that need to be completed as they pile up.
Organization:
Whether it’s simple To-do lists or writing out a schedule in a planner or calendar, it can be a super helpful way to break down all of the things you have to do. It can also help you manage your time better and get an understanding of the time that you have to get it done. This can also help you not forget important dates.
Sleep:
Sleep is an essential part of the learning process. Our bodies and brains require rest to function properly. Sleep increases our ability to concentrate and retain information.
Eating a balanced diet:
Eating nutrient-dense food improves the way our brains function because of the extensive vitamins and minerals they carry. It’s important to still take care of your body during times of stress.
